Milo Free Public Library News

November 09, 2012 - TRC - By Rochelle Williams

The new Library Staff has been settling in since August and we are very fortunate to have a great staff that have good ideas, enthusiasm and caring for the library and its’ patrons.

What’s new !! – our small selection of VHS and DVD movies has grown to a rather large number due to generous donations from the public.  They can be checked out for two weeks just like our books as long as you are a patron of our library.  We have a very nice selection.

Our “Newly Donated Book” shelves have grown with quite a number of new books to our library.

Again, it is a wide range of authors to be perused.  We pretty much have something to read for everyone.  Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared their books with our other readers.

In October we had a student from the University of Maine visit.  She is taking a course in Library Science and one of her assignments was to interview a library regarding progress in technology.  She chose our library and asked me various questions regarding where we are technologically.  I told her we were just getting started with the Download Library and we do have wireless internet for the patrons.  We wish her well in her further studies.  We even received a thank you card for letting her come and interview us.

We also have a newly donated color printer with copy and scanning capabilities.  As soon as we get a required cable for it, we hope to have it up and running for the staff and patrons.

On that note, let us move on to New Books!!
