St. Augustine's Thrift Shop volunteers to knit squares for AIDS babies in Africa

June 19, 2012 - TRC

During July, I invite anyone in the Dover-Foxcroft area to join me at St. Augustine's to work on knitted squares for blankets for AIDS babies in Africa. I am leaning toward Wednesday or Thursday afternoons, but am open to other options if those interested have suggestions.

You DO NOT need to know how to knit - part of the project will be an introduction to basic knitting.

You WILL need the following supplies:
1 skein worsted weight ("4") yarn, wool or wool-blend, any color
1 pair single point size 8 needles.
A good sense of humor and a dose of patience.

Please pass this news along--I would love to see it become a community-wide project!
