Machinist Training Program at No Cost to Qualified Applicants

Mid-State Machine Products and Kennebec Valley Community College are pleased to announce an education and training program to prepare individuals for positions as Machinists and Machine Operators. This approximately 600 hour training program will be offered by KVCC and Mid-State Machine at no cost to qualified applicants (Maine residents only). A High school diploma or equivalent is required to apply for training.

Since successful applicants will be offered part-time employment at Mid-State Machine, applicants must be interviewed by Mid-State personnel, take an Accu-placer test and pass, do a job shadow at Mid-State, and pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. 6 positions available.

Training will include, Trigonometry, Fundamentals of Machining, OSHA Safety, Geometric Tolerancing, Blueprint Reading and more. Classes may be held during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Application deadline is May 25, 2012 !

The jobs offer a starting wage of between $11.38 and $16.18 per hour depending on position. For successful candidates that become full time employees, a generous benefit package is offered, including Health, Dental and Vision, company matched 401k and a profit sharing bonus plan. EOE
