Handprint Flag

January 24, 2012 - BROWNVILLE - By Lynn Weston

A few weeks ago every student at Brownville Elementary participated in making a handprint flag for a friend
of the school guidance counselor, BJ Bowden. Scott Homsted was deployed to Afghanistan with his medical unit from the 101st ANG in Bangor. The students at the school made the flag to send to them.
Homsted had it signed by members of the medical group where he was assigned, and it was flown in a B-1 mission over Afghanistan. He visited the school this week to return the flag. The students were very excited and it now hangs in the school.
