June is set to be busy time for the Three Rivers Kiwanis activities and fund raisers!

Three Rivers Kiwanis of Milo and Brownville is a service organization that is busy supporting man y activities in the Three Rivers area. Such as youth programs, community activities, Secret Santa, RIF, Library program, Builders Club, Key Club and more to enrich our communities. Below are some upcoming events.

Three Rivers Kiwanis Club of Milo and Brownville will be selling Birthday Calendars again this year. Anyone wishing to purchase a calendar can have four listings for the cost of $5.00. The dates on the calendar may include birthdays, anniversaries, club meetings, an event, in memory, or military service. The Three Rivers Kiwanis of Milo/Brownville is looking for sellable items for their annual Kiwanis auction on Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th in Milo.We are currently looking for working appliances, furniture, household goods, bikes, auto, and other great items. This year dues to the cost of diposal fees of e-waste (E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their "useful life." Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products.), we will not access all electronic items without testing and approve of an auction committee member.

Saturday, June 11th - Three Rivers Kiwanis is hosting their annual Kiwanis Bike Rodeo on Saturday, June 11th, from 10 a.m. to Noon, at Milo Elementary School on Belmont Street in Milo. All elementary school children, accompanied by an adult, are welcome to participate. The event is free.

Saturday, June 18th - The Annual Three Rivers Kiwanis Sebec River Canoe & Kayak Race annually draws racers from across and their custom boats. Paddlers compete in 9 racing and recreational classes for canoes and kayaks under the rules of MACKRO (Maine Canoe & Kayak Racing Organization ñ www.mackro.org).
Popular racing and recreational classes include single kayaks and single canoes for men or women, two-man and two-woman canoes, mixed doubles (man and woman) canoes, and the Junior/Senior Challenge. Other MACKRO classes include Class I Racing Kayak, Class II Recreational Kayak, Class III Racing Canoe, and Class IV Recreational Canoe.
All paddlers must have personal flotation devices. Some experience with your boat in rapids is advised, since there are areas of whitewater Class II and as well as flat water stretches.

The Auction will be held on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Parking lot of the Tradewinds Supermarket in Milo. This yearís auction Fund raiser will include a yard sale tent, the Key Club music and books sale, a Bake sale and raffle. This year the raffle prizes include $ 200.00 of Groceries from Tradewinds, $150.00 of gas cards from Harmonís Shell and $ 50.00 gift certificate from Hobnobbers Restaurant. Guest auctioneers this year include Rep. Paul Davis and Piscataquis County Emergency Manager, Tom Iverson.
