Community Forum on Tourism Development for Brownville and Milo

February 09, 2011 - TRC

A Community Forum on Tourism Development for Brownville and Milo will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the Milo Town Hall from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Towns of Milo and Brownville are working together with students from the University of Maine on a Community Service Learning Project focused on tourism planning for the region. Students are researching information currently available about our area as well as data regarding the visitors that we attract.

In order to develop recommendations for increasing visitor traffic to expand the local economy, the students will also be researching other models for rural tourism development and, most importantly, gathering input from Brownville and Milo community members. This forum is being held to gather local input about:

How can Milo and Brownville work together on tourism related efforts ?

How do we value people and place ?

What are our tourism assets and are they ready for visitors ?

How visible do we want to be to visitors ?

Who do we think visits our region and what do we think of them ?
