Rides to Edwards Shop ’n Save in Dover-Foxcroft for groceries have been arranged !
Rides to Edwards Shop ’n Save in Dover-Foxcroft for groceries have been arranged through the combined efforts and resources of Richard Martin, Milo’s Recreation Director; Milo Recreation Committee; Dave Butterfield of Trade Winds; Penquis Lynx transportation; the Town of Milo and MSAD 41. All want to help individuals for whom the closing of the Milo Farmers Union has created a hardship. It is hoped that these buses will meet the needs of our elderly and families who do not have transportation, or money to pay for transportation, by providing the opportunity to travel to Dover-Foxcroft to shop for groceries.

Trade Winds has agreed to pay the Lynx fee for transportation on Tuesdays to and from Edwards Shop ’n Save in Dover-Foxcroft. Please remember that Lynx requires advance registration/notice two business days before the Tuesday of your trip. If you can plan ahead and call on Thursday for a ride the following Tuesday that would be ideal. To make arrangements with Lynx call toll-free 1-866-853-5969. Weekdays 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

~~~ On Tuesdays: February 8th through March 15th, trip to be approximately 12:00 noon (pick up in Milo) to 3:00 p.m. (pick up at Edwards Shop ’n Save).
Saturdays rides to Edwards Shop ’n Save in Dover-Foxcroft for groceries are being paid by Milo Recreation Department from proceeds of the Snack Shack at Harris Field and by Dave Butterfield of Trade Winds. The Recreation Department and Recreation Committee want to give back to the community that supports recreation activities year round. A school bus will be available for the first 45 passengers at the Milo Town Hall and the Town Hall Lobby will be open at 12:30 p.m. to passengers wanting to wait inside, out of the cold.
~~~ On Saturdays: Beginning February 5th, trip leaves Milo Town Hall at 1:00 p.m.

Milo is an amazing community ! People care about each other and that caring is put into action for all in the community. Even as the last of the inventory is being sold at the MFU the Board of Directors have awarded $15,000.00 to be used for Harris Field improvements and upkeep. Pretty amazing all around !

It is anticipated that the new Trade Winds in Milo will open on March 23rd , with a Grand Opening on March 27th.  Until then, please, share the information about these shuttle services freely with anyone who will benefit from these rides.
