21st Annual Penquis Cruize-In

June 10, 2010 - TRC

The Penquis Cruizers and the Milo Elementary PTO are teaming up again this year to present the 21st Annual Cruize-In from 10am to 2pm on June 27th at the JSI Store Fixtures parking lot on Route 11. Organizers report that there will be few changes in the activities this year. “If it works, we’re not going to make changes,” says Susan Worcester, Cruize-In organizer for the car club. “We’ve added and changed and taken away activities through the years and the schedule and routine that we have had for the last several years seem to keep bringing people back to Milo,” she reports.

Music will be provided by Neptune Entertainment throughout the day. The Three Rivers Kiwanis will be selling refreshments.

There will be dash plaques for all who register a vehicle. Also, those registered have the opportunity to participate in the Bumper Ball Contest and the Rap Contest. Bumper Ball is for those with excellent depth perception as the participants see how close they can back their vehicle up to a post with a ball on top without knocking the ball off. If you think you’ve got a loud ride, the Rap Contest will let you find out just how loud. The noise level from the exhaust is measured by a decibel meter. Awards are given for first, second, and third place in these events.

As always, there will be awards for the vehicle (and driver) who traveled the longest distance on the day of the event. Those registered will have an opportunity to select their Favorite Cruizer and if anyone has an unfortunate experience to relate in conjunction with their attendance at the show, a Hard Luck Story award will be presented. We’ll also have a 50-50 raffle as well as a Steering Wheel Clock Raffle (both drawn at the end of the day) and giveaways throughout the day.

One of the big draws for this event is the auction held starting at 1pm (unless the weather necessitates an earlier start time). There will be car related items, old and new, as well a items donated by area businesses and home made items.

Admission to the Cruize-In is $3 for adults. Children under 13 are admitted free as long as they are accompanied by an adult; if unaccompanied, admission is $2. No pets. No alcohol. Just lots of fun.
