Milo: American Jamboree 2010

January 02, 2010 - MILO

The first 2010 performance of the American Jamboree will take place on Saturday, January 9, at the Milo Town Hall following a concert by The Higgins Family from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.. Lisa Johnston Higgins has performed for Maine audiences and others for many years. Her career began as a youngster and she has several music awards to her credit, among them the State of Maine Country Music Artist of the Year Award.

The American Jamboree schedule has changed for 2010. You will be able to attend an American Jamboree on the first Saturday and the third Sunday of each month. Your donations will continue to build funding for a Veterans Memorial and/or other worthy causes in our community and your continued support is very much appreciated.

As is the custom, refreshments will be available with meals on Saturday and hot dogs, pastries and hot and cold beverages offered on Sunday.

The schedule for the American Jamboree, January through April 2010, is as follows :

Saturday/January 9......5:30-9:00 p.m.~~~Sunday/January 17.....2:00-5:00 p.m.

Milo veteran and by now veteran performer, Ron Knowles, organizes the American Jamborees with the help of Donna DeWitt and enough volunteer performers to fill the rest of this page if they each were to be named. Ron can be contacted at 207-279-9700 and Donna at 207-717-0717 for more information.

The talented and dedicated American Jamboree musicians perform primarily Country and Western and Gospel music in several locations raising money for many causes, providing entertainment, and bringing their fun filled evenings to communities like ours. TRC extends a big thank you to each and every one who makes the American Jamborees in Milo the entertainment events that they are.

By January 9th, after digging out from our most recent snowstorm, we’ll all be ready for the special concert by The Higgins Family (5:30 - 6:30) and the American Jamboree that follows going until 9:00 p.m.

There’ll be a hot time in the old town these nights !
