Milo: Letter of Invitation

November 12, 2009 - TRC - By Thomas Kittredge

Members of the Milo Business Association:

As you may or may not be aware, the Town of Milo was recently awarded a USDA Rural Development Rural Business Enterprise Grant in the amount of $500,000, for the purpose of constructing a building in the lower block of downtown Milo, with the goal of fostering economic development and job creation.

We would like to invite all members of the Milo Business Association, as well as other interested residents, to a meeting on Thursday, December 3rd, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Milo Town Office.

The purpose of this meeting will be to develop a list of desired types of businesses to attract for a building to be constructed with these grant funds, as well as types of businesses that would not be desired.

This information will be used by the Town of Milo and the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council (PCEDC) to directly contact desired types of businesses, as well as incorporate the information into a Request for Proposals being sent to qualified developers, to ensure that the communityís needs are met.

The meeting will be jointly facilitated by PCEDC Executive Director Thomas Kittredge and Milo Town Manager Jeff Gahagan.

Thank you for your attention. We hope that you can make it to this important meeting.

Sincerely,
Thomas Kittredge, Executive Director
Piscataquis County Economic Development Council
