Free Movie Tickets for the Unemployed and Under Employed from Center Theatre

November 07, 2009 - TRC - By James Macomber

The Center Theatre, in cooperation with Penquis, will continue offering free movies to area residents who have lost their jobs. The Theatre, which has been offering movie passes for sale to the general public, also wanted to make passes available to those who are facing financial difficulties and can’t afford to see a movie. “We especially want children and families to benefit from this program,” said Alan Bray, a Center Theatre board member who has been instrumental in getting the program off the ground. “Many of our movies are oriented towards families and with times so difficult, being able to go see a movie might help, at least help for a couple hours.” The passes will be good for 5 movie admissions at the Center Theatre and participants may request additional passes after they are used.

Penquis will distribute the passes as part of their efforts to help. Please contact Penquis at 50 North Street, Dover-Foxcroft, call 564-7116, or register online. Go to www.piscataquisresources.org then click on Free Movies.

The Penquis office is open Monday though Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A limited number of movie passes will be available to give away each month.
