Regular Meeting Minutes
The meeting at Kiwanis Headquarters was called to order by President Brenda Kelley at 6:30AM and was attended by 18 members. We had inter-clubs from Dover-Foxcroft (4) and Key Club (2) and we had a guest, Sheila Ellis, who came with Heidi Finson.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Frank Cochrane, and followed by a Moment of Silence.
Birthdays: Herb Dunham and Marty O’Connor both on May 25.
Happy/Sad Dollars collected: $13.00; Breakfast Receipts: $43.00.
Raffle: 50/50 of $18.50 was won by Izzy; other $18.50 goes into the Administration Account.
Hooked on Fishing: Jim Ellis requested that in 2016 our club join with Dexter and Greenville in a coordinated effort to hold an event where the public would be invited, and that it be advertised heavily.
Building Project: The grass planting project required by the State has to be completed by June 30; the loam has to be arranged for and then the project can begin.
We were given a wooden baseball bat which was made by Dove Tail Cabinetry (who installed the Kiwanis kitchen); Tom presented it to Jacob White, Key Club member, and member of the PVHS Baseball Team.
Upcoming Speakers: May 27 – evening meeting with Kathy Doyon updating us on Key Club happenings; refreshments at 6:00 PM followed by the meeting and program at 6:30 PM; the PVHS Key Club will be reviewing the DECON meetings that they attended last month, and Crystal Macomber, Key Club Lt. Gov., will be installing the PVHS Key Club officers for next year; members will be asked to donate desserts, the club will provide coffee, tea and lemonade
Speaker Chair for June: Pauline & Richard;
June 3 – Tom will be explaining the Harrigan Learning Center;
June 10 – Heather Badger will discuss the new programs being offered at Rite Aid;
June 11, 6:00 PM -Board meeting;
June 17 – Board meeting review;
June 24 – Auction preparation (all meetings except the Board meeting will be at 6:30 AM)
