George Alfred Hussey, 86, passed away peacefully Sept. 7, 2012, with loving friends and caregivers by his side at home. He was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Milo, son of the late Bertram E. and Cora (Weymouth) Hussey.
George attended schools in Milo and enlisted in the Army in December 1943 to serve his country. George served with Headquarters Company 1st Army in battle in Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy and Battle of the Bulge. George was honorably discharged Feb. 10, 1946. George worked for H.M. Pullen in sales for many years, Earl Towne & Co. and retired after 25 years with Bangor and Aroostook Railroad.
George is survived by dear friends and caregivers, Richard and Dorothy Bell of Lake View; friend and neighbor, Laurie Byrne of Milo; special friend and loving caregiver, Nancy White of Atkinson; former wife, Theda Cowing of Milo; one brother, Robert Hussey Sr. of Milo; daughters, Bretta Maguire and Georgia Korona; granddaughter, Katy Korona; and great-granddaughter, Amelia. He was predeceased by grandson, Seth Korona.
There will be a graveside service 11 a.m. Sept. 22 at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, with the Rev. Philip K. McGlauflin presiding.
