Transfer Station Schedule
Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
If the gate is closed, the facility is not open to the public.

The transfer station is closed on Sundays for the winter.

Mattresses and box springs with the metal out and on the metal pile can still be left at no charge.

Newly approved charges :
Unstripped mattresses and box springs........$ 5.00
Refrigerators and air conditioners (gas in)......$12.00
Televisions, computer monitors, etc. ............$ 5.00

The Transfer Station is located 2.5 miles from the Green Bridge, on the Lake View Road, in Milo.

Transfer Station Permits are available from:
Milo Town Office, Brownville Town Office, and Lake View Plantation Office.

The station will accept:

Household Waste: (Lake View ONLY) which are food scraps, bottles, jars, cans, newspapers, magazines, and other basic houeshold garbage, must be bagged in plastic garbage bags and then placed in the dumpster as instructed by the site attendant.

Burnables: Leaves, Brush, Branches (less than 6" in diameter), Scrap Wood, Clean Demolition Material, Corrugated, etc. No Stumps. May be closed to burnables due to dry weather conditions.

Metal Goods: Washers, Dryers, Tire Rims, Scrap Aluminum, Refrigerators (must be freon free), etc.

Brown Goods: Furniture, Mattresses, TV's, VCR's, etc.

Non Burnable: Sheetrock, Shingles, Panted Wood, Glass, Demo Debris, etc.


Please be sure to separate all goods. Each type of material must be deposited at the individual designated areas. No mixed loads, no commercial loads, and/or no large truckloads will be accepted. Pickup trucks or small trailer loads only.

You must have a Penquis sticker to use the facility. Stickers are available at no charge at the Town Office. If you have any questions, please call the Brownville Town Office at 965-2561 or the Milo Town Office at 943-2202.

Note: No regular household garbage. Regular household garbage still goes curbside and will not be accepted at the transfer station.
